Today’s video is about Rose plant. Topic is how to care your rose plants during summer. How to prepare rose plants for the next year. It is the month of march. After some days scorching sunlight will come and become more hotter. It will difficult to survive for your roses. The first step is cut the dry and old flowers immediately. Cut it from the stalk, not only flowers. Before cutting, wash your cutter/pruner with dettol water or others. Step no 2 is cut the old branches which already produced flowers. Keep new fresh branches. So that air will circulate well over the plants and also for well sunlight. Step 3 is very vital which is where to keep it. To protect rose plants from summer heat, keep it under semi-shade(bright light but no direct sunlight) Do not accept too much flowers from it in this season. Otherwise leaf and flowers will burn. Step no 4 is what should be it’s fertilizers. Do not use chemical fertilizers in this season. Use decomposed cowdung or vermicompost once in a month.Add a thin layer on the soil. Step no 5 is watering. I generally spray fresh water on whole the plants in the early morning. So that leaf will nor burn. You can do this at night time also. Keep the soil moist all the time. Do not soggy your soil. Spray fungicide once in a 15 days. Fungus can attack any time on rose plants. We generally use “SAAF” or “BAVISTIN” or others. Use 2gm of it with one liter of water and spray on whole the plant. Any contact fungicide’s validity is 10 to 15 days.It protects your plants from direct attack of fungus. Last step is mulching. If semi-shade is not available then you have to keep this under full sun.So to protect from sun burn, keep it under the shade of a large tree or need to mulch your rose plants with dry grasses or dried coco husk or rice husk or others. Cover plant’s soil with it. So that need not to water again and again. Water will not evaporate, soil will moist. Most of the insects will die during hot summer. But red spider mites attacks on this plant all the time. Apply good insecticides to protect from insects. Apply fungicide on the cutting portion of the branches otherwise die-back will occur. Die-back : Branches will dry from the upper to lower portion and whole the plant will die. Apply neem cake powder(one table spoon)once in a month on the soil. So that no insects from soil will not develop like tape worms and others. Tape worms are microscopic enters into plant’s stem/roots, effects plant’s growth. The other one is Magnesium sulfate or Epsom salt. Apply it once in a month on every plants. Add one forth of a tea spoon of it with one liter of water and spray on whole plants.
