An area partnership is turning local food waste into high value soil. Vermigold. It will be done through Vermicomposting. Any food collected by the hospital or university will be composted using worms. The soil made. will then be used for
community gardens in area nieghborhoods and schools. I think, you know,
it’s just a another unique collaboration in our community that’s bringing the importance of healthy food and gardening and sustainability to the forefront. The compositing site will be located on Mayo’s campus next to the community garden on Division Street.
